On September 2, 2026, two men allegedly carjacked a parcel delivery van in Rinchoa, Rio de Mouro. According to the Portuguese police, the vehicle left with its cargo inside, but its location system made it possible to follow the route and prepare an interception in Caldas da Rainha. The suspects were arrested and the cargo was recovered; the report was published on September 4.
