How blockchain proves origin

A product's origin isn't proven with a spreadsheet or a PDF. It's proven with a record no one can rewrite after it's written. That's where blockchain comes in.

1. The sensor speaks for itself

Tags and sensors (NFC, RFID, NB-IoT) collect location, temperature, humidity and shock during transport and storage. The data enters the platform in real time.

2. Every event becomes a block

Each measurement or inspection is recorded as an event on the blockchain. Blocks are chained by cryptographic hashes: change one and you invalidate all that follow. That's why the history can't be faked.

3. Oracles connect the real world to the chain

Blockchain alone doesn't 'see' the world. Oracles — like Sensefinity's sensors — bring real data onto the chain. Without oracles, a 'mountain cheese' record still depends on someone confirming it. With them, the herd's location is uploaded automatically.

4. The consumer verifies in one scan

With the Digital Product Passport, a single QR code reveals the whole story: where it was born, where it traveled, under what conditions. Origin stops being a claim and becomes a verifiable fact.
